As embarrassing as it may sound, we crave validation on certain things. We may not admit it out loud but we know in ourselves that we get conscious of what people think of us sometimes and yearn for a pat on our backs for a job well done. It’s a growing feeling that we can’t get out of our chest . We demand answers from others but us – and that’s what Gresson Peiffer realized and shared in her book Sharing My Light and Healing Energy: Journey to True Self.
Peiffer takes us on her journey through self-discovery and shares her experience of creating a new chapter without carrying the burden of her past. She intends to inspire people who feel like they’re stuck in life to have the power to recreate and rewrite their own story.
“You are the writer of your own story.” She reminds readers in the introduction of her book, “What everybody else thinks is none of your business. Don’t look for validation where you can’t find it.”
As much as it is fulfilling to have people swoon over you when you think you’ve done something you’re confident in, it is okay and normal to fail sometimes. It is not the end of the world; maybe the world is shifting gears to lead you somewhere you are meant to be.
“Everything in life happens for a reason: the people we meet and the events that occur. They are a catalyst for our growth and bring us where we are supposed to be in life.”
Peiffer believes that everything happens for a reason and certain occurrences in our lives direct us to our respective life paths. Life may throw obstacles we need to face; however, it is part of the journey to develop us into the person we need to become.
These rough roads may make us self-reflect and question our real purpose in this world. What is it that I truly desire? What is my task in this world? Sooner or later, we will have a eureka moment that can change the trajectory of our lives forever.
A tough pill to swallow on how to not be stagnant in life is learning to let go and heal the past. If Peiffer concluded that she needs to make room to let new things enter her life, then we’re no different from her. Moving on is challenging, yet it’s a must at some point in our lives.
“I learned to never stay stuck in a situation because it prevented myself from growing to become the person I was meant to be and why I am here.” Our battle scars may be etched on the surface forever, but it’s a reminder of the experiences we went through to make it far in life.
Believe it or not, we have greater purposes that will bring out the best version of ourselves. We must face our fears and change our mindset to a more positive trance to achieve them. To sum it up, it’s okay to fall and break sometimes. Bad things happen, not because we are cursed by whoever we believe in, but because it’s a stepping stone to the following chapters of our lives. It may be tricky and you can lose patience sometimes, but it will lead you to where you are meant to fit in ever since.
Sharing My Light & Healing Energy: Journey to True Self is Peiffer’s hope for readers to take that leap of faith and reinvent for better versions of themselves.
“Be creative and create the best version of yourself. Nothing is holding you back. Stop focusing on what others think about you. You’re doing your best, and that’s all that matters.”
